An Option for Remote Online Proctoring

Important: The information on this page describes pricing and availability during non-emergency events. In the event of an extended campus closure, pricing, availability, and procedures will be modified and instructors will be notified as soon as possible. Please stay tuned to Proctored Testing Updates for the most current information about proctored testing during the university closure.

FSU Assessment & Testing offers a remote proctoring service for online (not paper) exams only for distance-learning students outside of the Tallahassee area. The Examity® service provides live online proctoring as well as recorded sessions that can be reviewed by Assessment & Testing staff and instructors. We review each session recording and report any irregularities to instructors.

The cost for your students is $16.75 per student per examination for the first hour, and $7.00 for each additional hour. There are additional fees for appointments made less than 24 hours before an exam. Students are solely responsible for scheduling exams and paying administrative fees.

To better understand how Examity works, you can view their overview video as well as this sample recorded session. The proctoring options comparison chart below may also help you decide:

If You'd Like to Use Examity:

After submitting your request for services, contact to request Examity as an option for your students. Please do so at least two weeks prior to the exam date.

Once your Examity arrangement is confirmed, let your eligible students know that they must designate Examity as their proctor for your course. For convenience, we’ve provided a Student Guide. We strongly recommend that you add this link to your Canvas site and make an announcement about it.

Students will receive an activation email from Examity and can begin scheduling exams the following day.

We can also add accommodations for students with registered disabilities at that time.
